30K saplings planted

Chandigarh, July 17

A plantation drive was held on the Chandimandir Navy Station as a part of the week-long initiative by the Western Command. About 30,000 saplings of assorted varieties have been planted.

The plantation drive concerned shut coordination with the Forest Division of Haryana. The saplings that have been planted included kinds of timber, decorative, fruit-bearing, flower-bearing and medicinal timber.

Lt Gen RP Singh, Normal Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, and VS Tanwar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Haryana, have been current on the occasion.

The Military Commander spoke concerning the Indian Military’s efforts to complement India’s dedication to the world on lowering carbon footprint and making the eco system wholesome for future generations.
