Chandigarh-: Persevering with the battle towards medicine “Yudh Nashian Virudh” waged by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 261st day, Punjab Police performed raids at 313 areas on Monday resulting in the arrest of 68 drug smugglers after registration of 57 first data stories (FIRs) throughout the state. The raids have resulted in restoration of two.2 kg heroin, 500 grams opium, 11 kg poppy husk, 2168 intoxicant tablets and Rs 1.88 lakhs drug cash from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.

Notably, CM has requested the Commissioners of Police, Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendent of Police to make Punjab drug free state. The Punjab authorities has additionally constituted a 5-member Cupboard Sub Committee led by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema to watch the battle towards medicine.
