The revised criterion will now be relevant to eligible EWS sufferers availing of therapy at non-public hospitals, the order stated.

“The revised earnings criterion of Rs. 5,00,000/- every year shall be adopted henceforth,” learn the order.

The DGHS has directed hospitals to implement the modifications instantly. “All Medical Superintendents and Nodal Officers of the recognized non-public hospitals are hereby directed to strictly adhere to the directions already conveyed in regards to the therapy of eligible EWS sufferers,” the order stated, including that the revised earnings criterion “shall be adopted henceforth”.
