Ambala gets ready to receive first 5 IAF Rafale jets

Ambala is on the brink of obtain first 5 Indian Air Pressure (IAF) Rafale fighter jets, which took off from Dassault Aviation Facility, Merignac, France, on Monday morning.

No. 17 Squadron, the “Golden Arrows”, has been raised at IAF base in Ambala Cantonment to equip Rafale plane on Wednesday, a senior functionary of Ministry of Defence mentioned right here.

She mentioned the primary 5 IAF Rafales, arriving right here, embrace three single-seater and two twin-seater plane.

The functionary disclosed that ferry of the plane was deliberate in two levels and will likely be undertaken by the pilots of the IAF, who’ve undergone complete coaching on the plane.

The Air-to-Air Refuelling deliberate through the first leg of the ferry will likely be undertaken by these pilots with devoted tanker help from the French Air Pressure.
