The RTI has revealed the fact that the fees collected by the department in lieu of making yellow-pink and green ration cards were deposited in half by the government treasury and half the amount was deferred.
It has been informed by the department in RTI that an amount of Rs 16 lakh 11 thousand 395 has not been deposited. The total amount used to be 29 lakh 76 thousand 480, out of which only 13 lakh 65 thousand 85 should be deposited in the government treasury. Despite giving information about embezzlement amount in RTI, a case of embezzlement has not been registered in the police against the responsible officers and employees on the part of departmental officers, instead they are 16. A letter is being written repeatedly to deposit Rs 11 lakh. Prem Jain son of Bhim Colony Manak Chand Jain had sought information from the District Food and Supplies Department Sirsa in RTI. It was asked on their behalf that the department collected the amount from the consumers in lieu of issuing yellow-pink and green ration cards. When is this amount deposited in the department’s account and how much is outstanding. What action has been taken against the concerned officers and employees for not depositing the arrears for the last nearly two years. In response to the RTI, information provided to Prem Jain by the District Food and Supplies Controller-cum-State Public Information Officer, it has come to the fore that the department has recovered Rs 29 lakh 76 thousand 480 from the consumers, But only 13 lakh 65 thousand 85 rupees have been deposited in the government treasury and the amount of 16 lakh 11 thousand 395 rupees has not been deposited till date. This report has been given by Assistant Food and Supplies Officer Narendra Sardana in RTI. Surprisingly, no action has been taken till date against those who have not deposited the amount in the government treasury for the last nearly two years. The department is being instructed to deposit money from the concerned officials and employees. Whereas in other departments, an FIR is lodged in the police and recovery of money is done as soon as the embezzlement case comes to the fore. However, the department’s attitude remains to protect the subordinates and suppress the case.

Maximum embezzlement at district headquarters
A sum of Rs 5-5 in lieu of pink ration card, Rs 10 each in lieu of yellow ration card was collected and deposited in the government treasury. Instead of depositing it in the treasury, it was belied. This game was played in the department offices across the district. But the big game was played at Sirsa headquarters. Of the Rs 20-20 collected in lieu of APL (green ration card), Rs 3 lakh 97 thousand was collected and Rs 3 lakh 83 thousand 495 was recovered from the recovery amount in lieu of yellow-pink and OPH ration card. . That is, the maximum amount of Rs 7 lakh 80 thousand 495 has been embezzled at the Sirsa Center.
