An RTI activist, who had filed round 90 RTI purposes looking for particulars on authorities land encroachment, was shot useless at Harsiddhi in Bihar’s East Champaran district on Friday.
Police stated the incident befell round 11.30 am close to the Harsiddhi block workplace. RTI activist Bipin Agrawal (45) was fired upon by unidentified assailants who got here using on a motorbike.
Agrawal, who had sought particulars on encroachment of presidency land in Harsiddhii, had been attacked earlier too. He had lately approached the police looking for safety.
Reacting to the news, Nagrik Adhikar Manch convenor and main RTI activist Shiv Prakash Rai stated: “Agrawal had filed a number of RTIs to show land encroachers… it is rather unlucky to see how RTI activists are being focused within the state”.
