The Bombay Excessive Courtroom on Tuesday sought to know from the Maharashtra authorities if it had any mechanism in place to make sure that personal hospitals and nursing properties didn’t overcharge for private protecting tools (PPE) kits and different protecting gear.
A division bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice Sarang V Kotwal heard, by means of video-conference, a public curiosity litigation (PIL) filed by advocate Abhijeet Mangade stating some personal hospitals have been overcharging sufferers admitted for Covid-19 and non-Covid remedy, for ancillary objects together with PPE kits, gloves and N95 masks.
The bench requested the state authorities if it was monitoring such personal hospitals and nursing properties and sought to know if there was any regulatory mechanism adopted.
