Two males, together with the 32-year-old proprietor of a café, have been arrested from south-east Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar space for allegedly serving hookah to prospects.
DCP (southeast district) Esha Pandey stated, “We now have performed a raid at Underpass Cafe Courtyard, located beneath the Defence Colony flyover and arrested the proprietor Robin and his supervisor Aditya Sukhram Chaudhary (40). Throughout questioning, they disclosed that they had been operating the two-storey cafe and determined to illegally serve hookah to earn fast cash.”
The police have recovered 13 hookahs and 32 hookah payments. “On November 6, our employees on patrolling obligation performed a shock verify at Underpass Cafe Courtyard and located the bar members serving hookah to prospects. They had been violating Covid norms and never sustaining social distancing. After checking, we discovered eight huge and 5 small-sized serving hookahs. We now have lodged an FIR at Lajpat Nagar police station and arrested each accused,” the DCP added.
The Delhi authorities has, beneath the Pandemic Act, prohibited the sale or service of natural hookahs within the pubs and eating places within the nationwide capital as a measure to regulate the transmission of coronavirus within the nationwide capital. A number of bars and eating places have challenged the order.
