A 50-year-old lady has been arrested for allegedly killing her one-year-old grandson by banging his head towards the ground and later stuffing a biscuit wrapper in his mouth. The incident occurred on Tuesday at RS Puram in Coimbatore.
Talking to indianexpress.com, the police stated the accused, recognized as Nagalashmi, lives in a rented home on Anbagam road along with her daughter Nandhini (24) and her grandson Durgesh. Nandhini works in a non-public lodge and is separated from her husband, Nithyanandam. Her different son stays with the daddy in Saravanampatti city.
“Based on studies, Nandhini acquired married to Nithayanandam towards her mom’s needs. Nagalakshmi apparently didn’t just like the little one. After her daughter acquired separated, she was additional disturbed and her well being deteriorated.
“On September 21, Nandhini went to work as normal round 7 am. Round 11:00 am, an agitated Nagalakshmi banged the toddler’s head towards the ground after he didn’t take heed to her. The RS Puram police officer stated that the autopsy examination discovered a plastic wrapper caught contained in the little one’s throat.
“The kid’s cranium had been broken, the plastic in its throat choked him and led to demise. We registered an FIR and questioned each the ladies. Nagalakshmi confessed to the crime.”
Nagalakshmi was arrested and later remanded in custody.
