Delhi court seeks police report on plea against Manohar Lal Khattar

A Delhi courtroom on Thursday sought an Motion Taken Report (ATR) on a plea filed in opposition to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for allegedly making a provocative speech to incite violence in opposition to the protesting farmers.

Advocate Amit Sahni filed the plea asking the courtroom to summon Khattar and in addition to direct the involved police officers to conduct an investigation in opposition to him by lodging an FIR. Extra Chief Metropolitan Justice of the Peace Sachin Gupta directed the Delhi Police to file the ATR on December 16, when the matter will likely be heard subsequent.

The plea mentioned that Khattar, throughout a gathering with members of the BJP Kisan Morcha in Chandigarh on October 3, incited them to take a stand in opposition to protesting farmers through the use of pressure. Farmers from throughout states have been protesting since December 2020 over the controversial agriculture legal guidelines enacted final 12 months.
