A 30-year-old man allegedly dedicated suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan inside his home in Northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri on Wednesday.
Whereas the household of the deceased, Nilesh, has alleged that he dedicated suicide allegedly because of harassment by the owner for lease, police stated they haven’t discovered any suicide notice or another proof to help the declare. The incident passed off at round 11 am Tuesday.
Police stated Nilesh owned a juice store within the space and has been unable to pay the lease after he misplaced his livelihood because of the lockdown.
DCP (Northwest) Vijayanta Arya stated, “A crew went to the spot and located the person hanging. He was taken to the hospital however the medical doctors declared him lifeless. His household has alleged that the owner pressured him for lease. Police will probe the matter.”
Inquest proceedings have been initiated at Jahangirpuri police station. The deceased, Nilesh, is survived by his spouse, mother and father and sister. His household stated that they haven’t paid lease for the final three months.
“The owner’s spouse was threatening to throw them out. They’d barge inside Nilesh’s home and throw his belongings outdoors the home whereas demanding lease. Nilesh hasn’t labored since lockdown, so how will he pay lease? Final week, he requested me to provide them Rs 10,000 however I couldn’t… Nilesh was harassed…,” stated Kishore, Nilesh’s brother-in-law.
A senior police officer stated, “We’re questioning the owner and neighbours. The household is but to file a written grievance.”
In the meantime, a 22-year-old man allegedly dedicated suicide in Noida’ Section Three on Tuesday. In line with police, the deceased, Rahul, hailed from Jharkhand and was staying within the space to pursue a modelling profession. Police suspect he allegedly dedicated suicide over a failed relationship.
