Don’t interfere with operations of spas with valid licences: Delhi HC to police

THE DELHI Excessive Courtroom Monday pulled up Delhi Police for alleged highhandedness towards residents and warned it towards interfering with operations of spas which have legitimate licences and are following Covid-19 norms.

Pulling up a police officer for allegedly not permitting a spa and wellness clinic to reopen at Chandni Chowk, Justice Rekha Palli mentioned, “Aapko warning kar rahi hun mujhe ye kahani nai sunni ki roka nai, aapko warning kar rahi hun apne constable ko bhi bata dijiye. Ab wo time nai raha, loug courtroom aajeyga ek criticism leke roz.”

The counsel representing police informed the courtroom that they aren’t in any approach restraining spa homeowners from working their place so long as they possess a legitimate licence and observe Covid protocol and all different pointers as could also be issued once in a while.

Nevertheless, the courtroom mentioned it was coping with issues day by day involving complaints towards cops. It added {that a} 75-year-old man in one other case has approached it saying he was overwhelmed up by a police officer.

The petitioner, Prince Jain, within the plea mentioned the DDMA in August permitted reopening of spas and he obtained his licence renewed as much as March 2022. Nevertheless, Jain added that he was shocked and dismayed with officers of the native police station and claimed workers of the native chowk began forcing him to close down with none motive.

“This harassment by the officers of the native police station and workers of the chowki has turn into a routine,” he acknowledged within the petition.
