A footprint fossil of a brand new dinosaur has been named “Eubrontes Nobitai” in a tribute to the well-known cartoon character ‘Nobita’ from the Japanese animation collection Doraemon, studies Kyodo News.
The fossil was found in July 2020 in China’s southwestern province of Sichuan.
Doraemon’s motion pictures that includes dinosaurs had been “glorious”, stated Xing Lida, affiliate professor on the China College of Geosciences in Beijing, explaining the choice to call the fossil after the cartoon character.
