First Lady Savita Kovind inaugurates Bird Park

First Woman of India Savita Kovind inaugurated the Chandigarh Chook Park in a ceremony held on Monday.

Chandigarh’s Division of Forest and Wildlife has developed the park on 6.5 acres of land at Nagar Van behind Sukhna Lake for unique birds generally bred in India to assist create consciousness about hen conservation.

Boasting 550 unique birds of 48 species, the aviary gives house for birds to fly round freely and nest of their pure habitat whereas additionally permitting guests to view them, a press launch stated.

Debendra Dalai, UT Chandigarh’s Chief Conservator of Forests & Chief Wildlife Warden, stated that park has two enclosures that measure 200×150 toes and are 58-foot excessive and two walk-through aviaries.

 It’s believed to be the tallest aviary for the unique birds in India, a press launch stated.

The park boasts of a cafeteria and a memento store.

When are you able to go to?

The park opens to the general public on November 17.

How a lot do you pay?

Rs 30 for youngsters between 5 and 12 years

Rs 50 for individuals over 12 years of age
