Bathinda, March 12
A proclaimed offender (PO), recognized as Avtar Singh, alias Harry, a resident of Joga village in Mansa district space, has been arrested by a staff of the Organised Crime Management Unit (OCCU) in Bathinda. He was wished in a Rs 5.43-lakh fraud case registered within the metropolis in 2014.
Vibhor Kumar, DSP, OCCU, Punjab, stated, “A staff, headed by Bathinda OCCU in cost SI Hardavinder Singh, arrested Avtar on the Dabwali highway, close to Ganpati Enclave.”
He stated Avtar was a PO in a fraud case registered on the Canal Colony police station in Bathinda.
The DSP stated Avtar had fled away after committing the fraud, and was hiding in Maharastra for the previous seven years to evade his arrest. Nonetheless, the OCCU staff bought a secret enter that Avtar was roaming about, appearing on which, they succeeded in arresting him. — TPR
