Police have arrested a shopkeeper in Gujarat’s Kutch district for not taking vaccine towards COVID-19, towards the backdrop of the state authorities setting July 31 because the deadline for folks in such companies to get their first jab.

The FIR was lodged at Kandla-Marine police station on July 17 towards the shopkeeper below Indian Penal Code Part 188 for disobeying authorities order, and he was arrested on Sunday.

As per the FIR, the person, a resident of Gandhidham city of Kutch, owns a provision retailer at a procuring centre within the Kandla port space.

The complainant, police constable Udesinh Thakor, acknowledged within the FIR that as per a notification issued by the district collector on July 9 to stem the unfold of the coronavirus, folks related to companies pertaining to lodges, malls, ration retailers, saloons, and eating places “are required to get their first dose of vaccine by July 31”.
