The suspect, Subhash Sharma, 43, was posted on the civil surgeon workplace in Sector 38 and was dealing with a file associated to Atrium diagnostics positioned on Golf Course Street.

“The file required the deputy civil surgeon’s signature however Sharma had held the file’s processing for clearance,” he mentioned, including that Sharma had raised a number of objections for issuance of NOC and was thus harassing the proprietor.

ACB officers mentioned that after the recent objection, the centre’s proprietor sought assist from Sharma after a few days for getting the NOC processed with none additional points. To this, the suspect requested 5 lakh bribe for getting the clearance in a day.

In response to ACB officers, the deal was finalised for 3.25 lakh. The proprietor quickly approached the ACB and filed a grievance in opposition to Sharma in November final week and the allegations have been verified and located to be true. Following this, an FIR in opposition to Sharma below Part 7 (public servant accepting or acquiring a bribe) of the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered on the ACB police station in Gurugram on Monday.

The complainant reached the civil surgeon’s workplace on Monday and handed over a backpack containing the cash to Sharma, following which he was arrested, mentioned officers.

ACB officers mentioned that additional investigation was happening within the case to establish if it was solely Sharma who had demanded the bribe or if it was to be shared with some other well being division official.
