Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC), a youth organisation of Meghalaya which claims to characterize the curiosity of the native Khasi tribe, has warned Punjab authorities towards interfering within the concern of relocation of Dalit Sikhs residing in Meghalaya capital Shillong’s Harijan Colony.
In a press release issued in Shillong, HYC president Robertjune Kharjahrin warned of significant repercussions if “exterior businesses” attempt to give the proposed relocation a communal color. Kharjahrin clarified that by “exterior businesses” he meant Punjab authorities primarily.
