BSP president Mayawati on Saturday focused Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh over his letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi concerning the continued farmers’ agitation.
“The letter written by the Congress CM of Punjab to the PM, expressing varied apprehensions concerning the farmers’ agitation is a conspiracy to defame the motion of the farmers, who’re sacrificing their lives to get the brand new agricultural legal guidelines repealed, and pursue electoral politics beneath its guise. That is most unfair,” she stated in a tweet in Hindi.
Taking the Centre’s cooperation on challenges confronted by the federal government of a border state will not be unreasonable, however pursuing egocentric electoral politics beneath its garb and defaming the farmers’ motion are one thing the general public understands nicely, Mayawati added.
“The Congress will not be going to reap any profit by doing this,” she stated.
Singh had on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to instantly resume talks with agitating farmers, sending him a letter that cited “cross-border risk” by ISI-backed teams forward of the state meeting polls.
Within the letter, the chief minister cited “heightened cross-border risk and elevated drone and different terrorist actions by ISI-backed teams, together with plans by Khalistani outfits to focus on sure farmer leaders”.
He warned that powers throughout the border “could attempt to play upon the charged feelings of our proud, honest, and hardworking farmers” of Punjab. PTI
