In an RTI case, the State Information Commission Haryana has given notice to the District Magistrate-cum-State Public Information Officer of Sirsa, who has been summoned in Chandigarh on November 2. State Information Commissioner Jai Singh Bishnoi will hear the case. The Commission has issued this notice on the complaint of Sirsa chief RTI activist Pawan Parik Advocate. Pawan Parik had asked for some information in the RTI from the office of the magistrate on 9 June. However, the information was not provided within the time period set by the CTM office, to which Pawan Parik complained to the State Information Commission. Taking cognizance of the complaint, the Commission has issued notice to the Commissioner and summoned the Commission on 2 November.

On behalf of RTI activist Pawan Parik Advocate, the City Magistrate’s Office had sought information about the government guidelines for creating a containment zone during the Kovid-19 epidemic. Also what facilities were provided by the administration in the Containment Zone, details of expenditure incurred and copies of vouchers were demanded. It was asked how much budget and fund was released by the administration on the Containment Zone. The RTI also sought information on how much money was spent in the case of a person found corona positive and on what items.
