CHANDIGARH/AMRITSAR: Amidst the continued drive to make Punjab a protected and safe state as per instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled a Pakistan-linked arms and narco community with the arrest of 5 individuals and recovered six subtle pistols together with 1.01 kg heroin from their possession, mentioned Director Normal of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav right here on Sunday.
These arrested have been recognized as Akash Masih and Prince, each residents of village Pandori in Amritsar Rural; Karanbir Singh alias Karan, a resident of village Chaugawan in Amritsar Rural; Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of village Hetampura in Amritsar Rural; and Gurbhej Singh alias Bheja, a resident of village Lahian in Tarn Taran. The recovered pistols embrace 5 .30 bore and one 9MM Glock.
DGP Gaurav Yadav mentioned that preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused have been coordinating with Pak-based handlers by way of social media functions to gather and ship unlawful weapons and narcotics inside Punjab.
