Amritsar: Customs officers at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee Worldwide Airport have arrested a passenger after recovering round 25.25 kilograms of suspected narcotic tablets hid inside delicate toys. The operation was carried out on the idea of APIU profiling.
Based on officers, the accused arrived in Amritsar from Cambodia by way of Kuala Lumpur on flight MH-118. Appearing on suspicion, customs officers stopped the passenger for detailed baggage screening. Throughout X-ray scanning and bodily inspection, officers found tablets hidden inside 4 delicate toys. The toys had been specifically modified to hide packets containing the suspected medication.
Authorities stated the seized tablets are suspected to be Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), a banned psychotropic substance below the NDPS Act. The entire recovered consignment weighed roughly 25.25 kilograms. The Customs Division has seized the contraband and arrested the passenger. Additional investigation is underway to hint the worldwide smuggling community and establish the whole route of the consignment.
