Fatehgarh Sahib, April 29
A crew of the Vigilance Division, led by Inspector Pritpal Singh and accompanied by two authorities witnesses, caught Ishan Bansal, a junior engineer (JE) deployed with the PSPCL Chorwala subdivision, whereas allegedly taking a bribe of Rs9000 from Narinder Singh, a resident of Badali Ala Singh village, whereas his “confederate” Mohit Garg, additionally a JE, managed to flee from the spot.
Giving particulars, the Inspector stated, “Narinder installs photo voltaic methods.” He had complained to the division that Bansal was demanding Rs9,000 for clearing information associated to the set up of photo voltaic methods on the title of Mohit Garg and the SDO, PSPCL, whereas he had already paid Rs 9,500 to each JEs on April 28, the Inspector added.
A Vigilance crew, together with two authorities witnesses, laid a lure and caught Bansal whereas taking the bribe, the Inspector stated. Garg was evading arrest and raids had been on to nab him. Each the JEs have been booked below Part 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Part 120 B of the IPC, the Inspector stated.— OC
