Classical singer Rajan Mishra has died on account of Covid-19 in Delhi on Sunday. He was admitted to Delhi’s St Stephen Hospital after he developed coronary heart issues together with Covid-19, as per studies. Belonging to the Benaras gharana, Pandit Rajan Mishra, together with brother Sajan Mishra have carried out for each Indian and international audiences for many years now. Born in 1951, Rajan Mishra was born and introduced up in Varanasi. Alongside along with his brother, he acquired his musical coaching below his father Hanuman Prasad Mishra, their grandfather’s brother Bade Ram Das Ji Mishra, and their uncle, sarangi virtuoso, Gopal Prasad Mishra.
Famend vocalists within the khyal type of Indian classical singing, the brothers have been honoured by the Padma Bhushan award, the Sangeet Natak Akademi award and the Gandharva Nationwide award of their meritorious profession.
