A number of Senators of the PU have written to Vice-President of India and PU Chancellor Venkaiah Naidu for not stopping the Senate elections, scheduled to be held in September.
They acknowledged: “The PU Senate can’t be prevented from working the college as per the Act. However a number of the Senators, who’re additionally positional candidates to contest elections, are demanding rescheduling of the elections. The voter record has been launched and the nominations to 16 seats of Senate have been filed until date.” Earlier within the day, one other group of Senators had written to the Chancellor for rescheduling the elections. — TNS
