The Uttar Pradesh authorities on Tuesday introduced that sub-inspectors (SI) can now be made station home officers (SHOs) in half of all police stations within the state stress-free an earlier order of allocating solely 33 per cent.
In a letter to the Director Normal of Police (DGP), Extra Chief Secretary (Residence) Awanish Kumar Awasthi stated that earlier inspectors have been posted as SHOs in two-thirds of police stations and SIs within the remaining one-third.
However now, the coverage has been relaxed to boost the morale of hardworking and environment friendly police personnel, the letter acknowledged.
“Now, sub-inspectors may be posted in 50 per cent police stations as SHOs,” the directive stated.
The recent order will pave the best way for posting extra SIs as head of police stations.
