A number of leaders from the opposition, amongst them Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, have been booked beneath a number of sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Catastrophe Administration Act for having gathered to carry a protest in the course of the Covid-19 pandemic, police mentioned.

In all, some 200 leaders from SAD and 150 from AAP have been booked, police mentioned.
Each events have been holding protests towards Punjab Well being Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu outdoors his residence in Mohali’s Section 7 in violation of orders from the district Justice of the Peace, the police mentioned.
