Why no memorial built so far, ask angry Sangrur villagers

Round 6,500 residents of Kargil martyr Naik Bahadur Singh’s native village Banbhaura right now expressed resentment in opposition to authorities’s failure to assemble a memorial to him. Residents have written a number of instances to the authorities involved, however to no avail.

“We’ve got written letters, met officers and requested for a memorial. We wish a memorial in order that the village remembers him endlessly,” stated Balbir Singh, elder brother of the martyr. Bahadur Singh had joined the Military in 1988.

Sarpanch Kamaljit Kaur stated the village had demarcated a bit of land for a statue, however the authorities had completed nothing in that regard.

Block Improvement and Panchayat Officer, Malerkotla, Amandeep Kaur stated an utility had been obtained and that she would look into the matter.
